The rear bumper will need replacing as well, unfortunately. Instead of popping out of the tabs, the trim piece just ripped them clean off. I’m worried that this means it’s flapping around on the highway and I might lose my tag. I’d put it in the rear window if it wasn’t tinted.
In any case, it looks much better now than my original quick fix.
Also, I have a giant spider zip-tied to the actual metal bumper. One neat thing I noticed is that there’s a license plate mount hidden back there. I’m half disappointed that I don’t get to use it. Except for spiders and bungee cords, anyway.

What’s your insurance deductible? Might be worth it to go through insurance to get new parts. I would also take it to your mechanic to ensure nothing under the car was damaged.

Yeah, this looks hella boojie. I would definitely call my insurance and pay up, you shouldn’t drive around like that.

500. I’m getting it done through them. I could replace them cheaper, but not with a fresh coat of paint to match.

It’s holding up extremely well, actually. The bungee cord isn’t vital; it just holds the sagging bits high enough to clear speed bumps. There’s still about 3-4" if I took it off.
In any case, the earliest evaluation I could get is a week from today, so I’m kind of stuck with it this way regardless.

Ah, okay. As long as you get it fixed!
